Survival Guide
Welcome to the ultimate survival guide for architecture school! Whether you're a freshman or a senior, this guide will provide you with the tips, tricks, and jokes you need to make it through this rigorous program with your sanity (mostly) intact.

01
Invest in Good Coffee
Architecture school requires a lot of late nights and early mornings, so make sure you have plenty of caffeine on hand. Your coffee maker will become your best friend, so invest in a good one. And if you're really struggling, remember: caffeine is a hell of a drug.
02
Embrace the All-Nighter
Speaking of late nights, get ready to pull a few all-nighters. It's not ideal, but sometimes it's the only way to get everything done. Just make sure you have plenty of snacks on hand and take breaks to stretch your legs and clear your head. But also know, with effective time management, you will not have to do this. I also do not encourage this!!

03
Be Prepared to Defend Your Work
In architecture school, your designs will be critiqued and criticized by your peers and professors. It can be tough to hear, but remember that it's all part of the process. Learn how to defend your work without getting defensive, and take the feedback as an opportunity to improve.
04
Build a Support Network
Architecture school can be overwhelming, so make sure you have a support network in place. This could include classmates, friends, family, or even a therapist. Having someone to vent to or bounce ideas off of can make all the difference.

05
Don't Be Afraid to Ask for Help
If you're struggling with a project or a class, don't be afraid to ask for help. Your professors and classmates are there to support you, and seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
06
Take Care of Yourself
It's easy to let self-care fall by the wayside in architecture school, but it's important to take care of yourself both physically and mentally. Make time for exercise, sleep, and hobbies that bring you joy.
